A nurse by profession, Rocio decided to leave her job due to stress, changing her life by dedicating a few years to beekeeping with her sister Susana.

After becoming a mother she realised that although she was happy working out in nature, she could not dedicate enough hours to the intense work that beekeeping requires. So she proposed to her father that she take over responsibility for the family farm; he had always cultivated using organic methods, so adopting organic farming was nothing strange.

Rocio claims that her farm supports more flowers, fauna and biodiversity than those that work “poisoning the ground”. For her, the way to avoid pests and diseases is to fertilize and ferment worm castings, to maintain a rich soil.
