Francisco González Martínez runs a farm in Álora, in the Guadalhorce Valley near Malaga. His previous training in getting the most out of the land made him realise that it was worse for his health and for the farm, as he had many pests and diseases that were highly resistant to chemicals. Aware of this, he began to take care of his production organically in 2010.
He is also committed to a highly diversified farm and, despite having a large area planted with grapefruit, his farm also has different varieties of oranges, pecans, many aromatic plants and ornamental trees.
He firmly believes that the model of small family-run farms in the Axiarquía region slows down the inertia of the system of large plantations and monocultures.
